>l2 Furwmi, ***», «»■* z?, i»« Uyeitock market and oucHoii news Now is the Time (Continued from Page A 10) The mice have used up their stock piles of stored food and are now looking for a fresh supply. At this tune of year they will move quickly onto bark and roots of fruit trees. For growers who put out bait stations in the orchard last fall, it will be a simple matter to replenish the rodenticide-treated bait under each of the stations. Keep in mind that the mice are hungry and can do a great deal of damage to fruit trees between now and the tune that other plants start to grow in the spring. TO PRACTICE SAFETY We are now into spring, and that brings heavy demands on field work. This includes the use of many different types of machinery which increases the potential for accidents. We urge farmers to take tune to be safe; in many cases, haste has been the reason for farm accidents. When we are in a hurry we overlook safety measures and face additional hazards. There are three elements of safety...man, machine and environment. Con trolling man is by far the most difficult, especially in farm safety. Take tune to be safe-otherwise you may be sorry for the rest of your life.
