Wayne Cattlemen meet HONESDALE - The Wayne County Beef Cattlemen’s Association recently held a meeting at the Wayne County Extension Service office. Don Januszewski, president of the Wayne County Beef Cat tlemen’s Association, called the meeting to order and welcomed the thirty beef producers attending. Clare‘Linde and Vernon Crum gave reports on the successful feeder cattle trucking to the Danville Feeder Sale on October 9. Nearly 200 head of feeder cattle from Wayne County beef producers were sold through this sale. The increased participation in this sale by Wayne County beef producers was appreciated by the Association. A movie on fabricating beef carcasses into retail cuts was Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 31,1981-819 shown. The movie followed beef carcasses from the time they left the refrigerated truck until they were placed in a box ready to be delivered to supermarkets or restaurants. The group also discussed the possibility of purchasing a quantity of barbed wire from an area farm store. After some discussion, the decision was made to make the group purchase for all Wayne County Beef Cattlemen’s Association members. Members will be notified when to pick-up the barbed wire they ordered at the farm store. The next meeting of the Wayne County Beef Cattlemen’s' Association is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, at 8 p.m. at the Wayne County Extension Service, Courthouse in Honesdale.
