P2—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October!?, 1981 BLOOMSBURG - The Ken Moore, Sr. family of Rome, made this year’s Bloomsburg Fair sheep show a family affair. The Moore’s were among the 23 breeders recently that exhibited more than 200 head of Corriedales, Dorsets, Hampshires, Cheviots, Shrop shires, Suffolk, Southdown and Rambouillet. The Moores exhibited five Champion rams and four cham pion ewes in addition to several firsts in group classes. Ken, Sr. and wife Ruth have been showing for more than 40 years and exhibited Dorsets, Hampshires, Shropshires and Rambouillet. Their son Ken, Jr. and wife Lorie own the family’s Cheviot string while daughter, Doris Powell is also involved with her own flock of Shropshires and Hampshires. Emil Mellott claimed the top award for his Corriedales Mellott exhibited both the grand champion ram and ewe. Show judge Robert Herr awarded Grand Champion ewe honors to Ronald Miller’s entry. Miller also exhibited the grand champion Southdown and Suffolk ewes. First year 4-H leader, but no stranger to the show ring, Renee Harris, Stillwater, took home Grand Champion ram honors with her yearling Southdown ram. Another top ram exhibitor was Lynn Laudenslager who exhibited the grand champion Suffolk ram. Michael the senior champ and Sandra the junior champ are the children of Larry and Margaret Troxell. Lynn Laudenslager tops the Suffolk competition with his ram lamb. The Dalmatia exhibitor's entry was named grand champion Suffolk ram.
