Troy Ness of. Dallastown took his Suffolk Lamb to Championship honors by placing above nearly 100 other market laiiibs. Lisa Dobrosky, Glen Rock, was selected by Judge Richard Fowler from the University of Delaware to receive the Reserve Champion honors with her Dorset Market Lamb. In the pair of lambs competition, a set of Dorset crossbred twins won the competition for Donna Wilson of Glen Rock. The Reserve Champion pair of lambs also came from Glen Rock and were owned by Laurie Dobrosky. The champion fitting honors went to Troy Ness, Dallastown. The Reserve Champion fitter and the Grand Champion showmanship honors went to Tom Flory of Red Lion. The Reserve Champion Showman was Brian Bankert of Hanover. Another of the special classes was the Shepherd’s Class. This competition is based on the fitting, showmanship ability, and knowledge of the sheep industry possessed by the 4-H’er. Each must also show his own home-bred animals. In the junior division Sarah Lau, Loganville showed her Oxford yearling ewe to the top position. In the senior division Laurie Dobrosky, was named the Champion with her Dorset Market Lamb. After a hard day of showing the members got a chance to unwind with the lead-line and decorator competitions. The lead-line class is judged on the members’ ability to train and have their sheep walk on the halter, and their appearance which must include one article of woolen clothing.
