York dairy champs (Continued from Page D 2) Honeycrest Farms of York took the junior championship, with the reserve heifer awards won by Mike Welsh of East Berlin. r"” Judge John Morris selected “Lake Lane Heathers Flo” as the senior and grand winner of the Brown Swiss entries. Exhibited by Jerry Krone, Foust Hill Farm, Glen Rock, “Flo” is a senior two year-old. Placing runner-up to the senior and grand was Mike Welsh’s a 4-H entry of the East Berlin teen. Welsh also took the Swiss junior championship with his stretchy junior calf, dropping his brother Tom’s winning senior yearling into the reserve placing. Milking Shorthorns from Three Springs Farm and RACB Farm, entries of the Young family of Newville, made a clean sweep of that division, taking all the purple rosettes. Mildred Seeds’ “Top-O-Hill Milestone Tempty” repeated earlier feats of two of her show string herd sisters, capturing the purple banner for the well-known Jersey breeder. Seeds took all the top awards at'the York Jersey show, with exhibitor Bruce Heller winning the junior calf and three year-old classes.
