Polled Hereford Show on Sunday. Michael Cummings from Westminster, Md., exhibited the champion heifer of the show. Cummings, showed his April yearling heifer, Dunwalke Vicky 46M named junior champion before it went on to be selected as the grand champion heifer. _ Xhe reserve grand champion was the calf champion owned by John Hausner of Dover. The March heifer, JDH Miss JoAnn was sired by Enforcer 1074. Jackie Heflick of .Belle Meade, New Jersey, captured the top. honors in the Steer competition by having both the champion and reserve champion steers. Another of the Heflick family received top honors during the Hereford show. Judy Heflick topped the senior division in showmanship and went on to be selected as the champion showman. The junior division HARRISBURG , - Based on September 1 conditions, Penn sylvania’s 1961 production of com for grain, oats and tobacco is expected to be above last year, according to the Pennsylvania Crop Reporting Service. Com for grain production is forecast at a record high 123.7 million bushels, 29 percent more than a year ago and two percent more than the previous record set in 1979. Acreage for harvest is set for 1.33 million acres with a yield of 93.0 bushels per acre. Oats production is forecast at 19.6 million bushels, three percent more than theprevious year. Tobacco production is forecast at 24.8 million pounds, slightly more than last year. Acreage for harvest is set for 13,600 acres with a yield of 1,825 pounds per acre currently indicated, compared with last year’s yield of 1,000 pounds. . The grape crop is estimated to be the same last year’s production of 56,000 tons.
