Lome, 12, is a member of the Feathered Friends 4-H Waterfowl Club. Lome’s Dewlap Toulouse Goose r.ook top honors as the Best Goose ■n the show. David Plum, another Feathered Friends member, captured first place in the Stan dard Duck Class with his Rouen Duck. Four members received Best of Breed honors. Elena Voorhees, 10, of Hampton, owned the best White Emden. Penn Natl begins HARRISBURG - The 36th annual Pennsylvania National Horse Show opens Saturday, October 17 and runs through Saturday, October 24 at the State Farm Show Arena. According to Pennsylvania National Horse Show Association President James W. Hagar, over 1,000 of the nation’s top horses and riders will compete for more than $60,000 in prize money and trophies. Featured this year will be the Dillards, a cowgirl and cowboy trick riding act. Other exciting events include a polo exhibition, ladies barrel racing, the U.S. Park Police Horsemounted Drill Team and a carriage obstacle course race. Another evening will com memorate the 300th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Penn sylvania. Jumping competition will be held nightly with the Grand Prix de Penn National closing the show Saturday, October 24.
