Lehigh FFA wins top award * ALLENTOWN The Lehigh « County FFA chapter was the recipient of the Outstanding FFA Chapter Award presented by the Allentown Fair Association. Second-place honors were presented to the Kutztown FFA chapter and Oley Valley FFA placed third. This special award is based on the accumulation of points for placings in all vocational agriculture categories at the fair. The categories are vegetables, grains, hay and straw, educational exhibits, student record books, flowers and arrangements, beef, swine, sheep, and dairy. . Kara Kasprenski, Miss Allen town Fair of 1981 presented the winning plague to Brian Dietrich, president of the Lehigh Co. chapter. This year, the individual exhibits set an all-time high with a record 781 entries, which was an increase of 222 entries from last year. The exhibits were entered by a record €■ 108 students in vocational agriculture representing FFA chapters from six counties. Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 12,1981—C17 Wheeler wins FFA TROY Jeffrey lilies Wheeler, of R 1 Millerton, member of the Nor-Tn Lakes FFA, won the Holstein Grand Championship of the Northeast District FFA Dairy Show with a four-year-old, Yorkholm Cardinal Pecan. The four-year-old sired by Arlinda Cardianal out of Yorkholm Challenger Rosanne first took the senior Holstein championship and then went on to garner the top honors. Reserve grand champion in the Holstein competition was an aged cow shown by Donald Jenkins,'of the Troy FFA. Other breed grand champions included Tom Wivell, of the Mansfield FFA, in the Jersey competition; and Charles L. Castle, of the Harry Gates FFA, in the Guernsey contest. Reserve grand championships in those breeds Included Stephanie Kocher, of the Mansfield FFA in the Jersey competition; and John Torok, of the Headwaters FFA, among Guernseys.
