Elo—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 22,1981 Bupp’s top York black and white show YORK The annual York County Black and white show was held on Friday at the York Fairgrounds, in conjunction with the York 4-H fair. Topping the annual affair was a bred and owned heifer, Bupplyn Marvex Patty, that was named the grand champion of the show. The junior two-year-old, was selected by judge Sam Acker, Chester Springs, as the champion and was exhibited by Bupplyn Farms, Seven Valleys. The reserve grand champion went to George Knight of Woodbine Farms. The three-year-old Woodbine Astro Mollie, was sired by Paclamar Astronaut. However, their day was not all winning for while they were competing one of their cows went into labor. The difficult breech birth left the very large heifer calf dead. In addition, the 4-H members present at the show got a chance to demonstrate their knowledge, of the dairy industry by competing m a junior dairymen’s contest. The winners were announced after the conclusion of the black and white show.
