A2B—Lancaster Fanning, Saturday, August 15,1981 BY LAUREL SCHAEFFER KUTZTOWN - An eighty-six pound Hampshire crossbred lamb, shown by Lisa Bube, Robesoma, received Grand Champion honors Tuesday evening at the Kutztown Fair Market Lamb Show. This lamb was described by judge Henry Gruber, of A and B Packing, Allentown, as being very uniform, balanced and clean. Named earlier in the evening as Mediumweight Champion, Bube’s lamb was chosen above the lightweight champ shown by Ruth Grim, Breimngsville, and the Kutztown BY LAUREL SCHAEFFER Staff Correspondent KUTZTOWN The sheep shows at the 1981 Kutztown Fair ex perienced the largest number of entries m recent history. A total of 199 sheep were entered in various classes causing a mild havoc for the livestock superintendents. As a result, show schedules were changed to fit the sheep influx which were judged Tuesday so they could be released that evening to let room for hogs and beef scheduled for arrival Wednesday morning. Sheep showmanship and fitting was judged during the day Tuesday before market lamb classes, getting the 4-H’ers in top exhibition form. Lisa is a 17-year-old graduate of Conrad Weiser High School, now working as a secretary. This is her second year for showing sheep in 4- H. Lisa also has two younger brothers showing sheep, Fred and Todd, who didn’t fare as well as their sister in this year’s show. The Bube’s maintain a flock of about 30 sheep at home.
