Farm rescue manual FLEMINGTON, N. J. - There is a new safety publication, “Farm Accident Rescue,” just off the press. It is authored by several agricultural safety engineers, who recognized the need for this kind of information. The specialized nature of farm machinery and often remote field locations add to the difficulty of accident rescue and first aid. This new publication is a com prehensive source of information developed for anyone living and working on a farm. Farm Accident Rescue is also a basic training manual for fire departments and rescue squads. The 33-page publication describes UNIVERSITY PARK - Dennis J. Murphy, Extension safety specialist at Penn State, has been named recipient of the Maynard Coe Award presented by the Na tional Institute for Farm Safety “for his excellence m the field of agricultural safety.” The award is based on Murphy’s farm safety research, “Relation ships of Attitudes Toward Farm Safety Concepts and Farm Acci dent Involvement.” He wdl receive a plaque and $lOO. His research examined social and psychological aspects of agricultural safety. His work has stimulated colleagues to conduct additional research in this area, both in the United States and Canada.
