STEWARTSTOWN - Brian Banker! from Hanover had the grand champion market hog at the York County 4-H swine roundup held on Monday evening here at Sechrist Auction. Bankert’s champion 220 pound Duroc sold to Hatfield Packing Company for $2.26 per pound. Hatfield was the top buyer with the purchase of 27 hogs. The reserve champion hog was a 210 pound crossbred shown by Gus Parlett of Airville. It sold to Prowl Feed Service of Peach Bottom at $1.86 per pound. In addition to the market classes, judge for the show Ron Harrison of Littlestown, placed three age groups in fitting and showmanship classes. He chose Gary Burgard of Thomasville as the champion fitter and Todd Mummert of Seven Valleys as the reserve champion fitter. In the showmanship contest, the championship went to Brian Bankert.
