Included will be aspects such as best rates of seeding as well as rates for applying nitrogen fer tilizer. “Our plots at the Agronomy Research Farm will also show experiments to control diseases of small grains, including seed treatment and fungicide trials,” he added. Hatley indicated the goal of the Penn State Center for Cereals Research is to improve yields and profits from small grams m Pennsylvania and the Northeast region. This will include development and use of improved varieties, intensive cultural practices, and integrated pest management. Lunch will be available at cost on July 1. The Cereal Crops Day is expected to attract a number of interested fanners, seed dealers, and county agents. The,evening of July 1 will be devoted to a steak cookout.
