This year the festival consisted of a variety of organizations with food stands most of which had something to db with strawberries. There were strawberry short cakes, strawberry pies, strawberry candies and of course strawberry sundies. In addition to strawberry items, there were pork sandwiches, funnel cakes, and hot dogs with sauerkraut. Crafts were a major part of the day’s activities. A number of crafts were demonstrated in cluding; weaving, pottery, leathercraft, china painting. The children could enjoy the painting of clown faces, and a petting zoo and pony rides. Tours of the Blevins’ farm were also available. A haywagon took visitors to the festival around the farm. Once the wagons reached the strawberry patch, visitors were allowed to pick strawberries. The Blevins farm is a 3 generation family run farm. It was started in 1930 with only 60 acres and today contains more than 1200 acres. They rented an additional 500. The Blevins farm has 400 acres of peaches, 150 acres of apples, 50 acres of sweet com and 7 acres of strawberries.
