top-selluig calf at the Carroll
County, Maryland Calf Sale held
here at the Carroll County Ag
Center, is a daughter of Glendell
Arlmda Chief, one of the top ten
sires in the Holstein breed
The calf is out of an Excellent
dam with a record of over 1000
pounds fat. She was consigned by
Marlin Hoff, New Windsor. Md
Making the last and highest bid
for the Chief daughter were two

Mynck Conservation center of the
Brandywine Valley Association
will be transformed into a model of
good soil conservation practices.
Under the guidance of Soil
Conservation Services technicians,
practices such as contour strips,
grassed waterways, diversions,
terraces, tile drainage and a farm
pond will be installed.
The purpose of the field day is to
show the value of good soil con
servation practices and the benefit
these can provide to individual
farmers as well as entire water
sheds.
The event is sponsored by the
Chester County Conservation
District which has sponsored
