Reagan has conducted the 4-H Tractor Club Program in Franklin County for the past 25 years. In that tune he has reached over 1200 4-H members with the message about safe equipment operation. Safety aspects of the program include projects, lessons, safety films, slide presentations and demonstrations. The award noted Reagan’s program fills a need for a predominately farm-oriented group. Over the years many testimonials have been given by parents, leaders, and members supporting the effectiveness of the program. The FFA members of Admiral Peary AVTS, Ebensburg, were cited for their outstanding job with the fall harvest safety program Members distributed several thousand safety stickers to be placed near the moving parts of assorted farm machinery. Effectiveness of all of these programs can be seen because 1980 was the first year since 1977 that there have been no reported deaths caused by farm equipment ac cidents In other business, the Ag Safety Council approved new articles of incorporation which make it legal for the Executive Secretary to fill a major role in the organization’s work Current Executive Secretary is Yorkshire sale averages $3OB LEBANON Thirty-eight lots averaging $3OB went through the auction ring at the Pennsylvania Yorkshire Invitational Show and Sale Saturday at the Lebanon Fair Grounds Total of the sale was $11,700 Harry Bachman was auctioneer The champion bred gilt, exhibited by Leon Arnold, Lebanon, was sold for $620 to John Shaffer, of Dalmatia.
