In the dairy heifer category, there were 12 entires, Steve Kearns received a silver medal Steve is the 17-year-old son of Mr. & Mrs. James Kearns. Steve owns two Brown Swiss heifers which he shows at summer shows and fairs. This particular category and other production books are judged on the basis of their unpi i-vement pr jects, efficiency, neaLess, and accuracy. Also receiving silver medals were Tim Kurtz, 17-year-old son of Mr. & Mrs. Calvin Kurtz; Bill Kirk, 16-year-old son of Mr & Mrs. Robert Kirk; and Jeff Wolfe, 17- year-old son of Mr & Mrs. Thomas Wolfe. The work experience books are judged on the number of hours worked, money earned, and the accuracy. The Twin Valley chapter earned a second place gold in the scrap book contest. Wade Bernard, chapter historian, worked throughout the year organizing and designing our scrapbook. The scrapbook consists of articles from prior contests, pictures of ac- tivities, and outstanding members. It serves as a pictorial history of chapter activities on a calendar year basis. Scrapbooks are judged on organization, neatness, creativity, and the ability to tell the FFA story.
