Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 7,1981—D21 teachers would enable them to be very knowledgeable and interested m using the material as it was in tended,” Howell commented. Cooperating on the project were personnel with the Bureau of Vocational Education in Harrisburg and the Pennsylvania Farm Electrification Council. The same high school teachers assisted the agricultural education faculty at Penn State in instructing other vocational agriculture teachers in methods of conserving energy in the home and on the farm. After completing such a course, these teachers provided in struction in con servation to home-area high school students. The completed manual has three sections. The first deals with the need for energy conservation, showing how nonrenewable sources of energy are being depleted at a fast rate. The second section covers energy con servation in the home. The third section is devoted to energy conservation on the farm. This manual is now available from the Agricultural Education Curriculum Laboratory at Penn State.
