C36—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 21,1981 Dauphin 4-H Beef members earn awards HARRISBURG - The Dauphin County 4-H Beef Clubs held their annual awards banquet Saturday evening at Susquehanna Township High School Over 300 4-H’ers, parents, sponsors, and advisors turned out for the trophy presentations. Kaye Sweigard, Halifax, was recognized for showing the champion Roundup steer in Dauphin County Kaye serves as president of the Upper Dauphin 4- H Baby Beef Club. She also received a show halter award for her reserve champion Angus heifer From the Lower Dauphin Baby Beef Club, Dwayne Messick, Elizabethtown, took home a trophy for his reserve champion Roundup steer and one for his champion Chianma heifer Dwayne had the high project for the club south of the Blue Mountain The high project for the Upper Dauphin club went to Steve Martz, Millersburg Becky Webster, Halifax, Garth Sweigard, Halifax, and Sally Messick, Elizabethtown, received trophies for their lightweight, light mediumweight, and heavyweight Charolais scholarship funds HOUSTON, Tx Applications are now being accepted for the American-International Charolais Association’s scholarship awarded annually Students enrolled in a bona fide college or university, majoring in an agricultural course or a related field are eligible to apply The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholastic ex cellence m high school, leadership, citizenship, financial need and participation in agricultural en ■bmhhhhbhbm Hie new shift to Yanmar.
