Polled Hereford breeders elect nat’l officers KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Polled Hereford breeders Bill Wolfe of Wallowa, Ore., and Bill Woolston of Sheridan, Wyo., have been elected chairman and vice chairman, respectively, of the board of directors of the American Polled Hereford Association. He is a member of the board of trustees of Eastern Oregon College of Education and a trustee of the Pacific In ternational Livestock Ex position He is also a past president of the Wallowa County Stockgrowers and has been honored as that association’s “Cattleman of the Year.” In 1980, Wolfe was named • Seedstock Producer of the Year” by the Beef Im provement Federation. He has served as president of the Oregon, Columbia and National Western Polled Hereford Associations, and in 1977 was chosen by fellow Polled Hereford breeders to represent them on the APHA board of directors He previously served a term on the national board from 1965- 1969. Wolfe and his wife. Fern, have three sons and two daughters. Their sons, Bryan, Steve and Dwight, are all active in the Wolfe Ranches enterprises. Woolston is a Sheridan native who attended Sheridan High School and the University of Wyoming He is vice president of John E. Heisey, a prominent agricultural leader, and well known manager of public agricultural relations for Agway, Inc, has been selected and named as host for a delegation of Penn sylvania agricultural and agribusiness leaders on a fifteen-day Goodwill People to-People inspection mission throughout the People’s Republic of China. This will be the second People-to-People delegation which Heisey has led to China, the previous visit was in February, 1979.
