ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Two
Department of

have been promoted to
supervisory positions within
the department.
Dr. John Shook has been
appointed Assistant Chief of
the MDA Animal health
Section and Dr. Jacob
Casper has /been named
Director of the MDA Animal
Health Laboratory at
Frederick.
Since entering Maryland
state service in 1971, Dr.
Shook has supervised MDA
programs at the Frederick

A FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE
There are other four
wheel drive tractors. But
Steiger is preferred here in
the East by more farmers
farming more than 1000
acres than all the other 200
plus drawbar HP four wheel
drive tractors combined.
Why? The answer is simple.
Steiger Tractors have been
proving themselves in the
fields of Pennsylvania, New Jersey,
Delaware for the past six years.
Steiger Tractors are dependable, like a Farmall M.
Steiger uses rugged components designed for
construction equipment. Engines such as Cat and
Cummins. Drive-line components such as Spicer and
Allison. Steiger uses plate steel for their hoods, not
fiberglass. Steiger guarantees its drive-line com
ponents for 2-years. Steiger Tractors we well are
backed-up by Hoober Service Specialists and a stand
by-tractor.
BUT DON'T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT; ASK A NEIGHBOR WHO OWNS ONE.
STEIGER OWNERS ARE THE BEST SALESMEN WE HAVE...

state.
Dr. Shook now will assume
duties of the Assistant Chief
in the department’s Animal
Health Section at Hyatt
sville. He will work with
State Veterinarian, Dr.
Edward Wilson, to ad
minister activities of the 5
MDA Animal Health Labs in
the state and the depart
ment’s field veterinarian
services and functions. The
Frederick Lab vacancy
created by Dr. Shook’s
promotion is being filled by
MDA veterinarian Dr. Jacob
Casper.
Dr. Casper joined MDA in
1963. He served as a
veterinary circuit super
visor of the Meat & Poultry
than the others. Our ex
perience with large tillage equipment enables us to
match the proper tillage tool to the proper tractor for
your particular operation. Less slippage means in
creased efficiency.
Steiger Tractors are comfortable like a Lincoln
Continental. Steiger’s Safari Cab is quieter than other
200 plus HP four-wheel drive tractors. They are
roomy and the large contoured seat takes the torture
out of those long spring days. Air-conditioning and an
AM-FM stereo tape player are standard equipment.
Steiger Tractors are priced like a Chevrolet. Price a
Steiger by the pound, by the drawbar HP, or by the
acre. Then compare. You’ll see you can afford this
Cadilac of four-wheel drive tractors.

Steiger Tractors save fuel,
like a Volkswagen Rabbit.
Steiger's simple drive train
converts a larger per
centage of engine HP to the
drawbar than other 4-wheel
drive tractors. Steiger’s
drive train efficiency
translates into more work
performed per gallon of fuel
