Animal scientist wins Clover Award PENN STATE - James P. Gallagher, extension animal scientist at The Penn sylvania State University has been named recipient of the first Clover Award presented by the Penn sylvania Association of Extension 4-H and Youth Workers The award is presented to a person, not a member of the organization, who has made significant con tributions to youth programs Carol Schurman, Indiana County Extension agent and awards committee chair person, said Gallagher was cited for development of the Pennsylvania 4-H horse program, including project materials and leadership training In charge of the State 4-H Horse Show, Gallagher worked closely with 4-H leaders in developing production classes for show in addition to the traditional riding and showmanship classes The award winner was instrumental in organizing the National 4-H Horse and Collegiate Horse Judging Contests and the National 4- H Horse Bowl He also assisted in the development of educational horse programs tor han dicapped youth and adults Extension animal scientist at the Pennsylvania State University, James P.
