Pennsylvania girl, who
collected 200 different
varieties of insects within a
10-mile radius of her home,
has been named one of six
national winners in the 4-H
entomology program.
Diane Hall, R 3, Franklin,
received a $l,OOO scholarship
during the 59th National 4-H
Congress m Chicago, Nov.
30-Dec. 4.
Her award was presented
by the Agricultural
Chemicals Division, Mobay
Chemical Corporation,
sponsor of the entomology
program Winners were
selected by the Cooperative
Extension Service and
awards arranged by
National 4-H Council.

Mrs. George E. Hall, is a
sophomore at Clarion State
College, Oil City, Pa She
plans to become a certified
public accountant.
In her entomology project
the Venango County girl
learned “to respect all living
organisms, including in
sects. Not all msects are
destructive Many are
beneficial,” she said.
The coed became much
more aware of her en
vironment as she discovered
“very interesting insects,
ranging from the
microscopic louse to the
giant grasshopper ” She was
amazed to find 200 varieties
of insects within 10 miles of
her home
Hall also learned how to
properly use pesticides to
design, 1800 rpm continuous
duty ratings, inherent
voltage regulation, and
extremely good motor
