Continue on Route 143 foi 4 miles to Mobil Gas Station, then turn left and follow signs for 1 mill to farm. Don owns 3 HARVESTORES and a 6214 expandable SLURRYSTORE built in 1978. He has 70 head of milking cows in a tie stall barn. His SLURRYSTORE program consists of spreading 75 acres per year of slurry at a rate of 25 tons per acre, in addition he plows down 40 pounds of nitrogen per acre and applies 200 pounds of 10-20-10 per acre in the row. Don found that his manure handling time was cut in half when he installed the A.O. Smith SLURRYSTORE System. In the spring of 1980 Don agitated and spread 6 months worth of slurry with 90 gallons of fuel. He has a Nesseth side mounted pump for SLURRYSTORE agitation and a Nesseth piston underground transfer system. In Don’s new f reestall calf barn the slurry manure is scraped into the Nesseth transfer pump and stored in the SLURRYSTORE.
