bouquet for your mom.
-stuff some old clothes with straw (in the bam, of course),
add a head and a hat and set him out when the tune comes
for trick or treaters.
-visit your favorite, secret place in the woods for an af
ternoon of play before the winter comes.
So have fun. And when you get tired of these delights,
why not bake some of these goodies to go with mom’s
soup’ Tell mom to look for the soup recipes in this section.
PEANUT-BUTTER BREAD
1-2 lb. jar peanut butter
1 cup marshmellow creme
2 cups molasses
add warm water to right consistency
Spread on a slice of bread and eat it up!

MAPLE PECAN SQUARES
Preheat oven to 350*
Make crumbs from:
3 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup margarine
Press in 9”x13” pan, bake 15 minutes
Combme:
11/3 cup brown sugar
2 cups maple syrup
Cook 3 minutes, pour over:
4 beaten eggs (Pour over while stirring)
Stir in:
4 T. flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pour over crust, top with 2 cups pecans
Bake 20-25 minutes
With a Kubota L 295, the only thing you
won’t dig up are buried costs.

1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3 teaspoon soda
5 T. sour milk
1 cup banana pulp
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually and continue to
beat until fluffy. Add beaten eggs and vanilla and beat
until light. Sift flour; measure and sift again with dry
ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Beat thoroughly after each addition. Fold in banana pulp
until well blended into mixture. Pour mto greased layer
pans and bake at 350* for 30 minutes. This makes 2 (9
inch) layers.
POOR MAN’S STEAK
2 lbs. hamburger
1 cup cracker crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 chopped onion
1 cup tomato juice
Mb well (it is stiff and seems dry) and shape mto loaf.
Chill in refrigerator over night. Cut in about 1/2 inch slices
and roll in flour. Brown quickly on both sides. Place pieces
m roaster. Mix 1 can cream of mushroom and 1 can water
and pour over meat. Bake at 350* for 11/2 hours.
