Franklin County x Gerald Reichard Petroleum Power Gerald Reichard, 18, of 6306 Buttermilk Road, Waynesboro, was named state winner in petroleum power. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald W. Reichard, he is a freshman at Delaware Valley College. He has been a 4-H member for nine years. A member of the Spark Plugs 4-H club, he served as vice president. He also assisted with club activities and events as a teen leader. The state petroleum power contest winner completed projects in gasoline engines, tractor maintenance, swine. teen leadership, and field crops. Locally, Gerald took part in the exchange program, fair, roundup, achievement night, and leaders banquet. He also participated ir.i District 4-H Camp, Regional 4-H Teen Leaders Retreat, and Pennsylvania 4-H Leadership Congress. Locally, he took part in 4-H roundup, fair, day camp, achievement night, and officerstraining. Jesse also participated in District 4-H Camp, Regional 4-H Teen Leaders Retreat, Farm Show, State 4-H Capital Days, and Penn sylvania 4-H Leadership Congress. “Through 4-H projects, I have learned many skills that are helping me in the dairy business,” said Jesse. They are two of 41 Com monwealth 4-H members being selected as state contest winners in the various project categories. Huntingdon County Kimberly Chesney Public Speaking Kimberly Chesney, 17, compiled an outstanding record in 4-H work, was named state public speaking contest winner. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winstou Chesney, she is a senior at the Juniata Valley High Schol. She has been a 4-H member for eight years. A member of the Neffs Mills 4-H Club, she served as president, secretary, news reporter, treasurer, and song and game leader. She also assisted with club ac tivities and events as a teen leader.
