C22—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 6,1980 Hoff siblings sweep Maryland 4rH hog show TIMONIUM - “All in the Family” seemed to be this year’s theme in the 4-H and FFA market hog and fitting and showing contests held last week at the Maryland State Fair in Tunomum. Judge for the afternoon was Warren Beeler of Western Kentucky University. The 220-pound Yorkshire-Hampshire crossbred gilt went for $3 per pound to Esskay, meat packer located in East Baltimore. Tom Reynolds, 18, of Reisterstown, was chosen as the semor champion in the 4- H and FFA fitting and showing contest, and he went on to win the over-all fitting and showing championship. Carla Biggs, 12, of LaPlata, won the in termediate championship, while Kathy Bauer, 11, of Picketts Comer, won the junior championship. The Charles county 4-H swine exhibitors drew considerable attention with their barn decorations, featuring a poster picture of Miss Piggy and titled “Miss Piggy for President! ” M.H. EBY, INC.
