LEBANON - Two
Lebanon County sisters took
home eight blue ribbons at
last Thursday’s 4-H Horse
and Pony Roundup, held
here at the Fair Grounds.
Jeanne and Sheri Pierce,
R 1 Newmanstown, each took
firsts in four of the event
classes they entered.
Jeanne, 18, rode her 14
year old Quarter Horse mare
Sierra for the blues in
Western Pleasure Pony and
Senior Stock Seat
Equitation. The president of
the Spur & Bit Club also took
first with her horse m Semor
Grooming and Showmanship
and m the Mare halter class.
Not to be left behind, 13-
year-old Shen Pierce won
top honors in the Junior
Grooming & Showmanship
class and m the Weanling
halter class. Riding her Id
year-old Pony of America
mare. Speckled Fawn, Sheri
was picked by judge Robert
Gregory, Lititz, as the first
place entry in the Junior
Stock Seat Equitation class
and by judge Carol Henkel,
Quarryville, in Open Trail
Pony.
Both of the Pierce girls
have been in their 4-H horse
club for five years

Wunderlich, Lebanon Her
blue ribbon ui the Senior
Division Saddle Seat
Equitation class earned her
the right to compete m the
upcoming District Show, the
next step m defending her
state champion equitation
title which she’s held for the
past three years.

Ludwick, Palmyra With her
arm wrapped under a thick
bandage, Ludwick steered
her 14-year-old Quarter
Horse, Rodney, over the
jump course in a style that
seemed totally unhampered
by the 12 stitches she sported
under the wrap
First place m Western Riding went to Murray
Frazier, Lebanon and her 7-year-old Arabian mare,
"Miss Kel Arabic" Frazier is a 4-year member of
the Saddle Slappers club
At Lebanon 4-H Horse and Pony Roundup
sisters take eight blues
Sheri and Jeanne Pierce, R 1 Newmanstown, took home eight blue ribbons at
the Lebanon 4-H Horse and Pony Club Roundup last Thursday. Sheri, left, is
astride her POA mare, Speckled Fawn and Jeanne is riding her Quarter Horse
mare, Sierra.
Said Ludwick, “This is the
first tune this summer that
we’ve jumped in com
petition.” She explained that
she practiced jumping at
home since her accident and
decided she “might as well
try” to enter the class since
this was her last year to
complete.

ribbon in Senior Hunt Seat Equitation. The
daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Sowers, Ginger has
been a member of Hoof & Horns Club for 2 years.
