PEARL RIVER, N.Y. - A reassignment of executive responsibilities in the top echelon of Dairylea Cooperative has been an nounced by Edgar T. Mertz, Chief Executive Officer. “Purpose of the reorganization,” said Mertz, “is to set up functional divisions, each of which will be better able to serve the unique markets and customers of its part of Dairylea’s operations. Ray Fitzgerald, Executive Vice-President of the Commodity Credit Cor poration, said farmers may sell their reserve com after repaying their CCC price support loans. Release of the reserve, however, does not require fanners to redeem or sell their gram at this tune. Farmers with farm-stored reserve grain must request a release from the county office of USDA’s ASCS before removing the grain for sale. About 894 million bushels of com are m the reserve. On August 29, CCC will review the average price for com to determine whether the release authorization should remain in effect. For loans not redeemed, storage earnings will continue through the aid of August. Data used by CCC in determining the release level include five-day average prices as reported by USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service which show prices bid by buyers at selected markets. Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Omaha and St. Louis are the daily markets reviewed by CCC for com.
