New Jersey 4-H clubs meet Oral presentations win ribbons for Camden 4-Hers CLEMENTON - Four Camden County New Jersey 4-Hers gave blue ribbon presentations at the state competition held recently at Cook College. Jaelyn Rearick, Nancy Brekke, Carol Libbey all of LUCKY 4-H CLUB FLEMINGTON, N.J. - The upcoming 4-H Achievement Fair, to be held at the Flemington Fairgrounds August 6-9 was the mam topic for discussion at the last meeting of the Lucky 4-H Club. All of the members were encouraged to participate. Plans for the Flemington Fair were also covered at this meeting. The program in cludes a day on Capitol Hill to meet members of Congress and trips to federal agencies, as well as visits to historical and cultural sites in the Washington Area. Special emphasis is put on ways that the skills and knowledge gamed by the Cherry Hill and Alexandra Ewan of Cedar Brook received excellent ratings for their oral presentations. Ewan was cited for out standing excellence and was presented a pewter plate by state 4-H chairperson Brevoort Conover. To be eligible for the state event, each girl had to compete on the county level in May. In addition each is a state finalist for National Club Congress to be held this November. cT^rie Washington experience can be applied to 4-H programs here at home. The young people will study and observe our national heritage and system of government, with special emphasis placed on a contemporary issue each week. Issues to be addressed include economics, jobs and careers; international in terdependence; health, food and agriculture; con servation and use of natural HUNTERDON COUNTY KIDS4-H GOATCLUB FLEMINGTON, N.J. - A dairy goat workshop was held recently by the mem bers of the Hunterdon County Kids 4-H Goat Club. This workshop, held at the home of their leader, Bar bara Rausch of Bloomsbury, dealt with clipping and trimming a goat’s hooves and showing a goat properly m dairy goat shows.
