C3o—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, July 5,1980 reserve champ ATHENS, GA Christine Shive, Seven Valleys, York County, came home from a long trip to the home state of President Jimmy Carter with more than peanuts. This young Pennsylvanian and her heifer, BV Pinkie Pnde 49 brought with them the reserve honors in the bred-and-owned competition at the Southeastern Regional Junior Angus Heifer Show. Christine was one of 186 entries from 15 states in the annual competition. Debbie Logan of Jefferson, Georgia, captured the grand champion heifer title with her yearling champ, JF Corbinaire Petunia 951. Andrew Starr 111 of Sun bnght, Tennessee, followed to the reserve grand spot with his reserve yearling winner, CF Dressy Queen 3359. Thomas Jay Cronk, New Castle, Indiana, moved into the winner’s circle in the bred-and-owned heifer competition. His champion was Heritage Georgina 9HBI. Todd Dawes of Urbana, Indiana, earned the Premier, Breeder Award. This honor is given to the breeder of the three highest placing heifers in individual classes of the show.
