New Holland Baby Beef Club selects queens NEW HOLLAND - The New Holland 4-H Baby Beef Club met last week at Emily & Fred Weaver’s place. Mr. & Mrs. Larry High were guests for the evening. They were both former 4-H members and gave a demonstration of showing and groomiQg steers. Advice was also given from Max Sharon Heisler crowned Schuylkill Dairy Princess SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Jharon Heisler, Tamaqua, ?as crowned the 1980 tchuylkill County Dairy 3 nncess at the Dairy Pageant held Jaturday evening, at the '■'airlane Village Mall, Pottsville. Sharon is the daugther of Mr. and Mrs. John Heisler and is a student at Tamaqua High School, where she is a majorette, member of the tennis club and the school newspaper staff. She is a Sunday School secretary and an assistant Sunday School teacher. Anne Daubert, Pine Grove, was named alternate Dairy Princess. The dub guessed weight and placed Weaver’s 4-H steers. The junior queen, Emily Weaver and senior queen, Linda Martin, were selected. The July meeting will be Tour Day, when the club sees all the 4-H steers. Reported by Stephanie Yost. William Ronald Daubert and is a student at Pine Grove High School, where she is a member of the archery team. Anne also belongs to the youth group of her church and the South Schuylkill 4-H Cattle Club. Dean Heim, Pitman, served as Master of Ceremonies. Heim is Director, Region 7, Penn sylvania Department of Agriculture. Also participating in the Pageant were Bonnie Snyder, 1975-1979 Schuylkill County Dairy Princess. Bonnie, who is a Pitman resident, crowned the new princess and gave her farewell remarks. Landisville 4-H Sewing LANDISVILLE - The LandisviUe Klassy Khppers Klub held its second meeting recently at 9 a.m. at the Centerville Junior High School in the home economics rooms. the the It was decided that the next meeting would be held from 9-11 a m. Groups were organized for the up coming round-up. The food com mittee will be led by Chns Voegtlen, chairman with Barb Todd, Andrea Voegtlen, and Kim Ogle. Nancy Mays is chairman of the dress review. Helping her is Sue Cooperative Extension Service :hair refi g 1 Club makes octopi Ayars, Sharon Landis, Rajm Smgal, and Jen Miller. Sharon Landis demon strated how to make a cloth wreath, Donna Kilheffer and Jean Sauder showed how to make a flower arrangement and Jean Groff explained how to make an octopus out of yarn. Honda Sauder demonstrated how to decorate eggs that are blown out, Jen Miller showed how to make mints and Jen Piefer demonstrated what one should have in a sewing box. Reported by Barbara Todd.
