FAIR MOUNTERS 4-H HORSE CLUB FLEMINGTON, NJ - The upcoming 4-H Achievement Fair was the mam topic covered at the June meetmg of th« Fair Mounters 4-H Horse Club. Six members, one leader and seven guest attended the meeting, which took place at the Presbyterian Com munity House in Tewksbury Township. Members were assigned to certain jobs for the 4-H Achievement Fair, to be held August 6-9. The club is handling the details for the Western Division of the 4-H Achievement Fair Horse Show. A brief report was given on the results of the 4-H Day at the Mall Program. All those members m the rabbit project were en couraged to attend Rabbit Day at the farm of one of their leaders, Irene Harrison of Asbury, on June 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members will leam how to determine a rabbit’s sex and handling. A rabbit contest will be held during the day. Those attending this program are asked to bring a lunch. Club members are reminded that they must attend their July meetmg at the Extension Center or they will not be able to show their animals at the Flemmgton Fair. BUTTERFLY PROGRAM HELD FLEMINGTON, NJ - Sixty Prep Club members, their leaders and several parents enjoyed a program on butterflies given by Pauline Myers, Stockton, at the Extension Center. Members were given the opportunity to observe and handle many species of butterflies and moths, and learned the various stages of their life cycle. PATIO TOMATO GROWING FLEMINGTON, N.J. - Over 400 Tmy Tim patio tomato seedlings have been distributed free this spring to children throughout Hunterdon County by County 4-H Agent, Ray Nichols. In early May, Nichols working with the elementary school principals m Lam bertville, Lebanon Borough and Holland Township, distributed about 200 tomato seedlings to youngsters m grades 3,4, 5, and 6 of the various schools. He also distributed them to various prep 4-H Clubs and regular 4- H Clubs with horticulture project members. Others were handed out at the annual 4-H Day at the Flemmgton Mall. Three demonstration were given during the meeting: Maggots by Kathy Bromsh and Tammy Sozanski; Eve Lids by Sue Koch and one on Wool Types and Grading Wool by Margaret Buchanan. Plans for a club outing to Great Adventure was the mam topic of the meeting. CRAFTY CREATORS 4-H CLUB FLEMINGTON, N.J. - The members of Crafty Creators 4-H Club worked on pompom animals at their last meeting held at the home of one of their leaders, Lena O’Connor, Flemington. A presentation on pompom animals was given by Linda O’Connor. Each of the members is asked to bring a T-shirt to the next meeting where they will have a picmc, do tie-dying and visit a garden.
