C2o—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, June 14,1980 Top heifer brings $3500 at New Holland sale s BY CURT HAULER NEW HOLLAND Woodson Rorae Yoho Elvera n, a daughter of Round Oak Rag Apple Elevation, was the top selling cow at the New HoHand SalPS_Stables’ annaul registered Holstein Heifer Sale. Elvira, out of Woodson Yoho Ivan Yvera was sold for $3500 to Raymond Smucker of Narvon. Elvera was owned by David B. King and Robert Among the younger registered animals sold at the Saturday New Holland Registered Holstein Heifer Sale was this October, 20,1979 calf out of Lead-Dale Lucky Betty by Glendale Arlinda Chief. She sold for $1550 to Oxford Farms. Todd, both of Lancaster. King breeds cattle under the Lane-View prefix. King and Todd had another Elevation daughter who also sold for a good price. That was Woodson Rorae Samson Ida who brought $2650 from W. Engelbrecht of lowa. Second high seller was another Elevation daughter who sold for $3250 to Bill Thornton of Arkansas. A yearling heifer by Whittier Farm Apollo Rocket out of Navasota Matt Astro Cristina brought $lBOO from Oxford Farms. Oxford Farms purchased more cattle than any other smgle buyer. The yearling’s dam had records of 17,930 pounds milk and 720 pounds fat with a 4.1 percent test as a three year old.
