Kanach Brothers to host dairy farm open house
REAVILLE, N.J. - After
some half dozen years of
grace, the Dairy Farm Open
House goes back to Kanach
Bros. Farm on Father’s
Day, June 15, reports Henry
Kuehn, Jr., Raritan
Township, Chairman for the
event.
This will be the 10th Dairy
Farm Open House scheduled
by the Hunterdon County
Board of Agriculture and the
New Jersey Farm Bureau.
The first three were hosted
by the Kanach Bros., Jack
and Jerry, on their large
dairy farm near Reaville.
The Kanachs farm over
600 acres of some of Hun
terdon’s best land. The farm
is principally dairy. There
are 200 milk cows plus some

Activities on Sunday, June
15, open house begins at 1
p.m, concluding at 5 p.m.
Included will be demon
strations of feeding,
breeding, milking and care
of the daily herd.
A popular activity at open
house has been the wagon
tours of the host farm. This
year will be no exception,
says Chairman Kuehn.
Tractor-drawn wagons will
transport visitors along the

terdon County Dairy

year’s dairy princess con
testants.
The affair is open to the
public, and at no charge,
says Kuehn. The farm is
located on the east side of
county route 514, just south
of Reaville. Signs at nearby
intersections will mark the
-way.
