Craul, a tree farmer nurseryman, was an agronomy major at Penn State, where he played football and basketball and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. v He was in sales and management positions with Armstrong Cork Company in Lancaster, New York, Boston, Syracuse, Detroit and Philadelphia for nineteen years before devoting full time to his Christmas tree-nursery operation involving hun dreds of acres in Tioga County. Craul has been a member of the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association for over fifteen years, has served as chairman of various committees in the organization, and was president of the group for four years. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association, is the Christ mas tree industry’s representative to the Penn sylvania Council of Farm Organizations, is the Christmas Tree Growers Association representative on the Agricultural Advisory Council, is serving his second three-year term on the board of directors of the Grangers oppose gasoline fee WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Grange an nounced here Wednesday had strong opposition to the President’s Gasoline Con servation Fee on imported crude oil. Edward Andersen, Master ' of the National Grange, said the fee is designed to raise the pnce of gasoline by 10 cents a gallon. Unless action is taken, the fee will go into effect on May 15,1980. In a letter to the President, Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 3,1980—G39 Pennsylvania State University Agriculture Alumni Society, is a member of the Nittany Lion Club at Penn State, belongs to the National Rifle Association, is a member of the Penn sylvania Nurserymen’s Association, the National Christmas Tree Association and the Susquehannock Sportsmen’s Club. The 37th annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Growers Association will be held at his plantation, Maple Hill Farms, near Wellsboro this summer. Hickes holds a bachelor’s degree in business ad ministration from Juniata College, and a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He has been a general contractor in Huntingdon County all of his adult life. He is a life member of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, a life member of the National Wildlife Federation, a life member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, is a member of the National Rifle Association, the Smithsonian Institute, the Pennsylvania Forestry Association, and is involved in Masonic organizations. Andersen stated that far mers and rural people would be hit especially hard by the impact of the import fee. He said rural people must travel further than others for goods and services and farmers are currently hard pressed by low commodity prices, increased production costs, scarcity of credit and high interest rates. The increased cost of gasoline will also add to the cost of transporting, Brooks has been a member of the Game Commission since 1969, He served as president of the organization from 1971 until 1973, and again was president of the commission in 1979. Rinehart has been a member of the commission since 1972. Presently the secretary of the commission, he had served as the president of the agency from 1975 until 1977. Long had served on the commission for two terms. He was first appointed to the body in 1953, serving until 1961. During that time, he served as vice president of the commission from 1957 until 1960. Long was renamed to the commission in 1970. During his second period of service, he was vice president of the commission in 1971 and 1972, and then served as president from 1973 until 1975. Winter had been a member of the commission since 1972. He was named vice president in 1976, and served as president from 1977 until 1979. The terms of Brooks and Craul will expire in 1985, and the terms of Rinehart and Hickes will expire m 1987. processing and marketing food which m turn will be passed on to the consumer, said Andersen.
