A3B—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 8,1980 Reports of cattle rustling are continuing across the three-county area of Lan caster, Lebanon and Berks. Ivan S. Zimmerman, R 2 East Earl, Lancaster Coun ty, this week reported 16 Jersey heifers missing from winter pasture. The animals could have been taken on several occasions since September 22, according to Zimmerman. Their value was placed at $12,000. Last week, four bulls were stolen from the barn of Nor man Kline at Reistville in Lebanon County, Through a ' cooperative- effort of Neighbors dean the fire debris of the Reistvilie barn of Norman Kline, from which four bulls'werestolen less than a week earlier. 11:00 A.M. Rustling continues in 3 counties Myerstown police and New Jersey State Police, the animals were located and subsequently returned. A New Jersey couple was charged with receiving stolen goods and released on bail. On the night of the theft, Myerstown police spotted a pickup truck and horse trailer with New Jersey tags driving through town. Early Tuesday morning, a fire of suspicious origin destroyed the Kline barn from which the four bulls had been stolen. At the scene of the fire, a stolen Ryder rental truck was found, along with a cap believed to come from a gas can. Investigation is continu ing. Friends and neighbors within a six-mile radius gathered at the KUne farm on Tuesday and Wednesday to clean up the fire debns. The Kline family has ex pressed its appreciation for the assistance. About a mile away, two bulls were taken from the Moses Garman farm late last year.
