York Holstein Association slates Spring meetings DELTA The Spring Bam Meeting will kick off the 1980 lineup of activities for the York County Holstein Association. Paul and Kathy King, Kingway Farms, Delta, R 2, will host the March 11 session, scheduled for 1 p.m. A speaker on nutrition will highlight the program and all interested dairymen and agri-business represen tatives are invited to attend. York Holstein Winter tips for milk quality UNIVERSITY PARK - Dairy farmers are more likely to have a few minutes a day to spare during the winter. Think about your practices which affect milk quality. Most of your income is from the sale of milk. The better the quality and flavor, the more consumers will buy. Do you follow these practices? Keep cow stalls bedded and cows reasonably clean. Operate fans for good ventilation to prevent cow health problems and off flavors m milk. Use a sanitizer solution and paper towels to wash and dry cows teats and lower portion of the udder prior to attaching milker units. Buyers and consigners to the Calfarama will be the special guests at the York club’s annual summer picnic, to be hosted by Tom and June Boyer at their Sunnybend Farm, west of York, on July 29. T. Initial arrangements call for an overnight stay visiting herds in New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania. Further information will be announced at the March bam meeting. York’s Black and White show is set for Friday, August 15, at the York Fairgrounds. That show is to be held in conjunction with the county’s 4-H fair, dairy and horse roundups.
