D2o—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 9,1980 Here’s where and when to update pesticide licenses LANCASTER As required by state law, farmers holding private restricted use pesticide licenses must update their license. Certification is required for any farmer who wishes to apply “restricted use” chemicals on his operation. Restricted materials generally are the “hot” chemicals or chemicals with a long soil life. Many farmer groups, businesses, and extension service sessions serve to update pesticide licenses. Attendance at such a meeting and completion of the registration form are all that is necessary to have certification renewed. The following list, from Vernon Thompson, Supervisor of the Bureau of Plant Industry, is the latest summary of a growing list of sessions where pesticide certification can be up dated. 2/11 James Buchanan High School-Young Farmers Vo-Agr. 7:30 p.m. 2/13 Agway-Friendship Fire Hall-Lebanon 10:00 a.m. 2/14 Dauphin-Lebanon County Com Clime-ExtensionSemce-Hershey 10:00 a.m. 2/18 CV-Cooperative-Brookside Community Hall-Walnut Bottom 7:00 p.m. 2/19 Dover High School-Young Farmers Vo-Agr. 7:30 p.m. 2/20 E.
