BY SHEILA MILLER HARRISBURG - The recipient of this year’s Coble Award, for the outstanding 4- H member in Dauphin County, was Judy Fair, Harrisburg. Presenting the award to the Upper Dauphin Baby Beef Club vice-president, was Mrs. J. Ira Coble. Each year, a Dauphin Co. 4-H Beef Club member is recognized for club ac tivities, projects, com munity service, school ac tivities, and awards. The Coble Award is given to the club member who’s member record, the blue form, shows the most beef clubmerits. This is the third year for this award to be presented in memory of J. Ira Coble. Coble was a 4-H leader in Dauphin County for more than 40 years. The award was given to Fair during the annual banquet of the Dauphin County Beef Clubs, held last Fair wins Coble award Saturday evening at the Susquehanna High School. She also received a trophy for her heavyweight champion steer. Former Coble award recipients were Janice Kaylor, 1977, and Brenda Fisher, 1978. There were close to 400 people in attendance for this year’s meeting. Parents, club members, leaders, and contributors to the clubs were surprised to hear from Assistant Secretary of Agriculture E.
