B6—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, January 19,1980 OAKRYN - Fulton Grange No. 66 met in regular session January 14,8 p.m. at their hall here in Lancaster County. The Master, Thomas C. Galbreath, presided at the business session. The Charter was draped in memory of Mrs. Clyde McSparran. Mrs. Howard Miller reported that Oakryn Senior Citizens would be taking a bus trip to Hershey January 16 to see the Ice Capades. Peggy Galbreath reported twenty-four Grangers went Christmas carolling Dec. 22nd to nine homes. They returned to the Grange hall where several Pork producers announce 4 - .. The Lancaster County Pork Producers Association announces their annual Pork Producers Banquet scheduled for February 8 at the Harvest Drive Restaurant, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Special awards will be presented to out standing FFA swine production students and a*' producers. Representative Robert Walker will be the evening’s speaker. All Lancaster County pork producers are invited to attend. Tickets are available from; Gary Dean, R 1 Strasburg; John R. Groff, 1218 Lampeter Road; and John Lindenlauf, RD2 Coatesville. Also, John Henkel, R 1 Strasburg or Mark Nestleroth, R 5 Manheim. The cost is $7.50. Fulton Grange reports meeting activities others joined in refresh ments and Santa presented everyone with a gift. The hall was replete with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. The Secretary, Peggy Galbreath, announced the State Grange -regional conferences for Subordinate and Pomona Grange officers and committee chairmen. The ones nearst for Lan caster Co. Grangers to at tend will be held February 23rd at Keystone Grange, Trappe, Montgomery Co. and February 24th at Valley Grange, Lewisberry, York Co. Pomona Master, Jesse Wood, announced the county banquet Lancaster County Pomona Grange No. 71 will hold their quarterly meeting Saturday, Jan. 19, at Fulton Grange Hall. There will be a covered dish supper at 7 p.m. Everyone should bring a meat dish and another dish as well as their own place setting. The committee will famish rolls, butter and beverage. The meeting will convene at 8 p.m. when a memorial service will be held and the new officers will be installed. Mrs. Howard W. Miller Jr., Lecturer, presented the program. Mrs. Donald McCalhn read a poem “A New Year’s Meditation.” Mrs. Miller conducted a quiz on January birthdays of U.S. presidents, military men, inventors and literary men. She gave an interesting story about Benjamin Franklin whose birthday was January 17 Arba Henry, head of the Solanco High School Agriculture Dept., will bring several of his students who attended the National FFA convention in Kansas City last fall to the next Grange meeting January 28.
