Zee, who has primary responsibility for the Council’s 39th Annual Convention is urging those who haven't gotten their advance registrations in the mail to do so immediately. “Special advance" registrations rates, which save $l5 per person, end Penn schedules vet conference PHILADELPHIA - An institution at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, the Penn Annual Conference will be held for the 80th con secutive year on Wednesday, Jan. 30, and Thursday, Jan. 31, 1960, at the Hilton Hotel, 34th St and Civic Center Boulevard in Phildelphia. The event formally known as the Pennsylvania Con ference of Veterinarians, was founded in 1900 by Dr. Leonard Pearson, the dean responsible for construction of the older port of the school’s present quarters. The purpose of the con ference is to bring together speakers having wide ex perience in veterinary medicine, many of whom are members of the faculty of the school, with alumni, other veterinarians and exhibitors to discuss various aspects of veterinary science. Wednesday morning will be devoted to sessions on large and small animal pediatrics. These sessions will focus on genetic and other diseases of new born and young dogs, as well as the immunology, respiratory and other diseases of new bom foals. A general session, in the afternoon will include reports on various aspects of the School of Veterinary Medicine, and the Gaines Penn Annual Conference Lecture which will be delivered by William Jackson, D.V.M., president of the American Veterinary Medical Association. The second day will be given to clinical close ups, 18 presentations of actual clinical case material which demonstrate recent ad vances in veterinary medicine. Dist, Inc. of Jersey City, N.J. was suspended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture on Nov. 21, after the firm failed to pay a reparation award of $3OlO. The department’s Agricultural Marketing Service set the award in favor of a Florida shipper for two lots of mixed vegetables shipped in January, 1979.
