LARC requested assistance in helping to sell angels at Gimbds at Park City. Members are looking for a folding wheel chair for a teen ager. Details of the wheel chair project will be discussed at tbe January meeting which will be held at the bomeof Ester Farrell. Tbe rug and mat made by Society Sister, Betty Geib was sold to tbe highest bidder by sealed bid on Saturday, December 15. Tbe ladies of Society 2 sent a monetary gift to the Manbeim Borough to help pay the cost of lighting the square atManheim. Esther Petticoffer read a letter from Pauline GorcQey. A letter was received from Society 2 sponsored child, Park Soon Chin from Seoul, Korea; she is in the fifth grade. Everyone exchanged grab bag gifts and enjoyed their covered dish lunch. Approximately 40 gifts were wrapped and sent to guests at the Harrisburg State Hospital. Pakced fruit baskets, grocery baskets and gifts were shared with guests at the Dunkard Brethren Home. Five members of Society 2 plan to attend the State Farm Show the first week in January. Society 3 Members and - their children of the Lancaster County Farm Women Socie ty 3 were entertained on December 15 at the annual Christmas party. Mrs. Esther Petticoffer was hostess. The group met at the Salem Lutheran Church, Ephrata. Daring the business meeting, Mrs. Norma Meak, reported that members visited five shut-ins, singing Christmas carols. Mrs. Nancy Palmer pro gram chairman distributed the 1960 yearbooks. A Christmas program was presented by Uncle Jim, Aunt Betty and the muppets. Perfect attendance gifts were given to Gladys Paul, Willie Stover, Ruth Shaub, Nancy Balmer, Miriam Moore, Esther Petticoffer, Alma Weinhold, Erla Gehman, and Salinda Resner. The retiring officers were presented gifts of apprecia tion. These officers included Miriam Moore and Eileen Miller. There was a gift exchange and among the member and Santa Claus presented each child with a gift. The hostess served refreshments during the social hour. The next Society meeting will be held on January 19 at the home of Mrs. Vera Smoker, R 1 Stevens. Lancaster Co . Society 13 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 13 met at the Ronks Fire Hall for the annual Christmas Party. The singing of carols was enjoyed by children and old alike. The luscious food that was prepared by the ladies was enjoyed by all On December 9 the society went Christmas caroling to the various places in the area. Lancaster Co. Society 18 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 18 met December 15 at the home of Helen N. Hess. Thirty-one members responded to the roll call, “What someone did for me this past year?” Lancaster’s Society 18 and 19 will entertain guests at Conestoga View on January 17. Bhoda Herr and June Myer will be the delegates to the State Farm Women Con vention to be held at the Har risburg Forum on January 7. As a Christmas gift, money was given to the boat people. Fruit baskets and homemade cookies were given to a family from Laos. A ham, love check and cookies were given to ill members. Mrs. Dorothy Russo was the speaker for the after noon. She showed the group how to make “Bread Flowers.” The January meeting will be held at the home of Mar tha Stoner. Lancaster Co, Society 19 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 19 held their Christmas Banquet on December 8, 1979 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meadow Hills Dining Hall with twenty-five members and their husbands and guests in attendance. A delightful program of music was presented by Lee and Cindy Condran assisted by Gary Winters entitled Songs of Christmas. Duo piano artistry, vocal and coronet music was featured. The program was in spirational. Members were urged to participate in the meeting with Governor Thornburgh presented by the League of Women Voters on December 18at6:45. The Society will be en tertaining guests at Conestoga View on January 17 at 1 pjm. An enjoyable time was had by all. The next meeting will be a sewing workshop held at the Landisville Church of God January 19 at 10:00 a.m. Each member should bring a covered dish. Lancaster Co, Society 22 The Lancaster County Farm Women Society 22 held its December meeting at the home of Mrs. Carl Diller, 2112 South View Road, Lancaster. The members went carol singing to shut-ins and distributed cookies. The meeting was called to order by President Jane Houser. Roll call was responded to by each member completing th» phase: “It wouldn’t seem lib. 2 Christmas w M)Ut ” A basket of ''ri'it was given to Ann Diller in appreciation for printing the yearbooks. Members are urged to continue to sell cookbooks. Attention was directed to the upcoming State Con vention on Jan. 7 & 8. Four members are going to at tend. Ann Diller and co-hostess Barb Martin served delicious refreshments. The next meeting will be held on January IS at the home of Mrs. Henry Hess, 15 Batt Avenue, Willow Street. Lancaster Co, Society 26 On Thursday, December 13, the Lancaster County Farm Women Society 26 met in the home of Judy Esbenshade. Janet Erb read the devotions from Luke 2. For roll call each member named her favorite bock of the Bible. It was decided that each member will donate $5 to buy small gifts for the needy children of Easter Seal. Chairperson, Lois Brubaker, distributed the program books for 1900.
