Lancaster Co, Society 11 The monthly meeting of the Lancaster County Farm Women Society 11 was held at the home of Mrs. John Swarr. Mrs. Norman Wood presented the devotions. Plans were completed for attending the State Con vention and Farm Show. An election of officers was held. Mrs. Dorothy Booz accepted the office of president for the next year. The highlight for the af ternoon was Dr. J. Calvin’s presentation, “From Where I Stand.” The December meeting will be held at the home of the retiring president, Miss Mary Swa it, with one dollar gift exchange. Lancaster Co, Society 14 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 14 held their annual Christmas meeting at Historic Strasburg on December?. A family style dinner and gift exchange was enjoyed by all in attendance. Socks and mittens were brought in for the needy. Miriam Leaman in troduced the program. A dramatization was given by Mike Lowry. A quilt was displayed, quilted by some of the members for Mrs. Jean Thomas. The 1980 year books were distributed. An all day sewing project will be held at the General Hospital on January 3 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lancaster Co, Society 25 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 25 held their annual Christmas party at the Conestoga United Methodist Church, Saturday, Dec. 8. Each member brought a hot and a cold dish. There was a wide variety of delicious food. Nineteen members and two guests were present, as well as the husbands of members. Williamson will be of special interest to area cattle feeders since he helps to organize the graded feeder cattle sales throughout Virginia that many of our area feeders attend. Williamson, former Virginia Cattleman of the Year Award recipient, is presently an Extension Livestock Specialist in beef cattle marketing. He has been an assistant County Agent in two Virginia counties, and is presently doing research on the effects of Pre-conditioning feeder cattle. All area cattle feeders are encouraged to attend this free, educational meeting. The Union Grove School is located near Terre Hill, on route 625, 2 miles north of route 23.
