Heifers were mostly 50C lower. Cows closed firm to 50 cents higher and bulls were 1.00-3.00 higher. Four day receipts 15,900; compared 11,700 three days previous holiday week; and 17,200 year ago. Fed cattle prices came under rather persistent downward pressure following the Thanksgiving holiday as supplies ex panded moderately and carcass prices turned sharply lower under generally light demand. Yield grade was a major price determining factor as the differential between yield grade 3 and yield grade 4 carcasses widened to as must as 12.00-13.00 per cwt. The overall finish of the steer and heifer supply wa£ attractive with a liberal percentage Choice and moderate volume Choice and Prime, although many consignments were mixed 3 and 4 yield grades.
