This month, two meetings have been scheduled to review the progress of the study. The study began with an extensive inventory and mapping of soils, topography, streams, transportation systems and land use of the area. It also included a detailed economic analysis of the County. Through analysis of data gathered through the use of computer information, the study will eventually cover the county’s potential economic growth and means of achieve it, its en vironment and quality of life, and the best alter natives of economic and environmental strategies. These alternatives will also finished tenth m the national 4-H livestock judging contest. This year’s team total would easily have been good enough to win the 1978 national contest, according to William A. Curry, team stress options for Lancaster County’s future. After the study is com pleted, local officials will have a comnrehensive and thorough evaluation of the natural resources of the Lancaster area. All options presented by the study will be im plemented only through decisions of the local governing bodies and citizens. The Maryland 4-H livestock judges continued a tradition of doing well in sheep competition, placing fifth in that category. The team was also fifth in oral reasons. It placed ninth in swine judging and sixteenth in beef cattle placmgs. The same Maryland 4-H team placed third on November 7 in the twentieth annual junior livestock judging contest during the Keystone International Livestock Exposition at Harrisburg, Pa.
