SCC Perfect Courage 803 named top Charolais bull KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The strongest Charolais Show, outside the annual national exhibition for the breed, saw 160 entries parade through the 1979 American Royal Livestock Show arena before Judge Don Pochylko, San- Dan Charolais Farms, Ltd., Erskine, Alta. The Roll of Excellence event, dedicated to Victor Peterson, Panora, lowa, a longtime Charolais breeder and showman, was held m conjunction with the American-International C harolais Association’s an nual fall board meeting hosted by the Missouri Charolais Breeders Association. Pochylko named SCC Perfect Courage 803 as his grand champion bull. The junior champion out of the March-April spring yearling class is owned by Barton Charolais Ranch of Manti, Utah; Gentry’s Double Hook Ranch, Whitman, Neb.; and Shallow Creek Charolais of Fort Sumner, N.M. The bull, a son of Courage, was bred on Dennis and Jane Adams’ Shallow Creek Ranch. Barton scored with the grand champion female when Pochylko went to BCR Miss Barton 873, a daughter of LCR Impressive G 560, a summer yearling heifer which had stood senior champion.
