The ABS sign, ' which stands beside 190-94, greeted the delegation as it approached the company’s headquarters in DeForest, Wisconsin. The Chinese were visiting a number of farms and dairy-related businesses in Wisconsin, to get a first hand look at dairy practices m the state. The group was mainly from the Red Star Com mune, near Peking. Two thousand Holstein are milked there, with most of the work being done by hand. Nearly all of the dairy cows m China are bred ar tifically and the delegation was interested in getting more ideas on how to maximize production.
