The quantity of Kentucky bluegrass or red fescue desired in a mixture depends upon the shade conditions predominating in your lawn. For partially shady areas use a mixture of bluegrass 40% and fescue 60%. In selecting seed, above all, avoid the bargain type mixture. Such mixtures usually contain a high percentage of temporary and coarse grasses. The results of seeding a cheap, poor quality mixture usually are disappointing.
