1 Lamb show champions named at Allentown By LAUREL SCHAEFFER Staff Correspondent ALLENTOWN - Gail Snyder, 19, of New Tripoli took grand champion honors of the Allentown Market Lamb Show, held during the last full week before the start of school. Gail, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest D. Snyder, exhibited a crossbred medium heavyweight lamb. This young lady who will be a sophomore at Penn State University this fall, also captured the grand champion pair of lambs. Placmg behind Gail, with the *r % r Joshua Grim earned champion honors in the sheep showmanship contest held recently at the Allentown Fair. Joshua is the twelve year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua 0.0. Grim, of Breiningsville. reserve champion market lamb was Jim Tretter, 16, of Whitehall. Jim, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Tretter, Sr., also exhibited the reserve champion pair of lambs, and was named champion fitter of the 4-H fitting and showmanship contest. A diversified showman, Jim made his mark m the steer show as well as taking champion honors of the showmanship contest and reserve honors for fitting. This young man is presently president of the Lehigh County FFA, and is a senior at Whitehall High School. Surprising many of his fellow exhibitors, twelve year old Joshua Grim out showed the older exhibiors to take champion honors of the sheep showmanship contest, after placmg first in the junior showmanship class.
